Big Innings Lead Doggy Paddlers to Win Over Bees
Quincy, IL – The Quincy Doggy Paddlers only scored in three innings, but they made them all
count as they cruised to a 13-2 victory over the Burlington Bees at QU Stadium on June 4.
The Doggy Paddlers wasted no time to get the scoring started, plating five runs in the bottom of
the first inning against Bees starter Talon Jennings (Olney Central).
Burlington got on the board in the second inning when Kila Teixeira (Hawaii Pacific) homered
over the left field fence, going deep for the first time in his career.
The Bees had chances to continue cutting into the Paddlers lead, but they stranded six runs on
base between the 2nd and 4th innings, and the score remained at 5-1.
Quincy would go on to score four runs in the 4th and 5 runs in the 5th to make the score 13-1.
These two teams will play again on Sunday for the second of twelve meetings this season. First
pitch is set for 5:30 pm at QU Stadium.
Prior to that, Burlington (4-5) welcomes in the O'Fallon Hoots to Community Field tomorrow
and Saturday, with each contest beginning at 6:30 pm.
